Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

By FalseTragedian on January 4, 2026 10:59 pm

This is the story of an unimaginably foolish operator, told from the perspective of his equipment.

Also, the equipment only speaks in the NATO alphabet and uses military slang. I guess the user is in the military.

It's my first WB submission, and my first completed track in a good long while. Composed on M8 with speech synthesis samples recorded from MicroFreak. Rebuilt from an old unfinished instrumental track, felt like it needed some lyrics, I've never recorded lyrics before and didn't have time to figure all that out, hence the Plaits synthesized vocals. Maybe you'll get to hear my actual voice later this year. It might even almost sound good.

WTF?
STOP!
OMG WTF BZ BZ BF (OMG WTF good job, good job backstabber/traitor/snitch)
HOW?
MAN!
OMG WTF BZ BZ BF
HATE HATE (This is a reference to "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream")

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Interesting electro! The bass stabs are are bit hot in the mix compared to the rest of the elements. I like this one a lot.

This feels like a cyberpunk story.

Thank you for the kind words and the constructive criticism! I know little about mixing/mastering so this is useful.

This is supremely cool! The panning on the vocal samples really grabs your attention. It feels weird complimenting your panning but it just works with your vocal samples.

Very cool! Do the lyrics actually say a phrase?
