A HARDBALLZ Goodbye

By evanericksonmusic on March 8, 2026 8:50 pm

Another week where I made a better song than what I originally submitted! I was going to try to fit in a claymation animation with this, but I don't feel good enough to do that + I want to beat match it and I should do it with something a bit less complex as a first try at beat matching.

But guys, this is a eulogy for my M8 model 1! Had to give it an honorary sendoff before I ship it away this week. I am moving up to model 2 life. My weary young eyes are so excited for the larger screen. Thank you to my model 1 for the wonderful re-emergence into composing music. Hopefully the chonker that is an m2 will last me the rest of my life.

Thank you for your service, Model 1. What a way to go out!

Seriously, my jaw was on the floor listening to this. Sonic insanity on par with some of my favorite noisy music like Skinny Puppy, etc - I want an album of this. An absolutely fitting Viking Funeral for your Model01, you pushed it to the limits and gave it a heroe's funeral.

That main melody line feels as chaotic as it is unnerving. Nice IDM vibes with the randomised vocal sample and saturated drum chops. The buildup in the second half with that cello(?) line gets super intense and keeps that intensity high.

Hope you left this one as the last opened session on your M8 before sending it off, so the new owner gets to hear it as their first impression.

Gotta go out with a bang (or several). The rising and falling arp in the background sounds like ghosts circling a field, and that gets turned up to shrieks when the drums crash in. Vocal chops are chaotic in a really fun way (especially loved the whole run from 0:52-0:58). And the harsh tweaks to the melody line in the middle sound to me like grim pallbearers, and deserve a metal album cover to match. Salute to M:01, crazy beast

so intense, nice work!
