i've been super busy prepping for a move and slowly moving crosstown. while doing all the moving things i opened up my podcast app and started an episode i had downloaded a while back, from this show "Heat Rocks" that is kind of like "Song Exploder" in exploring an album with a special guest. this episode was on the art of sampling and explored Nas' "Illmatic" which featured a variety of music producers at the top of their craft. super fascinating. so i decided to try and make a "golden era"ish hip hop track, influenced by "Illmatic" and focused on sampling and loops. slowed it down to 94bpm since the album came out in 1994 (almost 30 years ago and it still sounds so dope) and played around with almost everything in d#. hope it makes you bop.

yeah nice one!

Man love those fat horn swells in the intro. Lots of swagger.  Piano is a great percussive element.

These are some nice beats, really captures the feel well. Definitely made me bop.
