history was alex.
herstory was renée.
history repeats.
and on and on.

we could be dancing.
we should be dancing.
history on the streets.
and on and on.

while i started this week with inspiration from a past playlist from a decade ago, things quickly turned after yesterday. i tried to complete the original vision that was forming from another reference track, but just was consumed by sadness and rage so felt i had to end it as abruptly as the lives that have been taken and the lives terrorized and abducted. and it's not just in the states, but in iran, gaza, and anywhere violent oppression and suppression shows up. thankful that music can be a way to process it all i suppose.

we could be dancing.
we should be dancing.
history on the streets.

The silence at the end is deafening...

That plasticy sound is an instant vibe. You're making a strong point, we SHOULD be dancing

Great mix; it really cooks along and that vocoder/robot voice reminds me of—YIKES!

🪦🫗🙁

Fuck yes, history.

Funky, that robot voice instantly made me think of Ich R' U' by Boys Noize. Ending guns shots samples hit hard.

this has become the big frame flip i am more and more committing myself to: what's more absurd? asking for and building a world where there's more dancing? or what we currently have? thanks for giving this a listen and for getting the message. i hope you've been able to dance the best you know how recently.

appreciate the listen and yikes indeed. there was more i wanted to do to mix all the elements and really make an upbeat track, but alas people in power delivered death and bullshit instead.
