W52 - Wading / Dumb / Delorean Acid (3 Song 2024 Send Off)

Very busy week. Worked on Delorean Overdrive set. Completed production work on a few songs for the band and extended to the set. A little over half way through the work. Want to finish as much as possible to leave room to practice in January. 2 Songs left. M out to Hawaii. D having issues with flooding due to heavy rain and baby sitters. Did not meet. AL finally had time off from contract. Been spending extra time together running errands and watching things. Grabbed bottle of wine, cheese, salame, and fruit. Had nice meal on xmas eve watched bad xmas movie with wife. Mind too busy to read. Visited family for xmas. Learned of some new cousin news. EL trip to college hospital and JM coming out now. Spent extra time talking with G for VTC to support. Focused on talking with aunts more this time. Discussed politics and played w/ AC's new camera. TC gave excersize advice. Talked with Uncle C and M about retirement. Very happy for them but C's health is a struggle. VTC seems happy and others notice. Did traditional gift hand outs for my passed away father. Had second xmas with Wife's family at later day. went to VL and R's new apartment and had nice Chinese food out of town. Nice new place but bad city design. Took AL's parents. They seemed happy and appreciated the driving. Exhausted from noise and people so spent a day watching movie trilogy. Flu and Covid vaccination knocked me out. AL took over NYC trip booking. Good to go on that front. Attended to some festival related coordination. Re-reading article on communication styles. bought tickets to see Justice and related studies.
Set out to read more, focused on my health more, get married, and complete a full year of weekly beats. Ended up getting through 10 books (started 13), surpassed all of my exercise goals including breaking personal bests in cycle and dropping weight (254lbs to 214lbs including last years progress), Got married, and made more then the 52 songs. I am very happy with what I was able to do this year and thankful for the opportunities that came along the way (playing my yearly gig 
, seeing my family grow, mental health progress, etc.). I am not normally an optimistic person but looking back at the positive things and the goals I met makes me reconsider that mentality.

Wanted to finish out WB2024 with a bit of a bang. I've made 3 songs this week.
[Wading]
Ambient track made while experimenting with some ripped EMU Emulator II samples. Ran through granulator III and reverb. I believe Granulator III now comes standard with Ableton so not sure if I need to catalog it anymore. The sample didn't fit in for it's original purpose so it was repurposed here. Works well with granular synthesis. Quite like the texture of the source but difficult to tune except to its self. Full track made with only one sample.
[Dumb]
Late night experiment with hyper synth on M8 turned into full track. Again playing with decoupled triggers to change notes mid decay. Probably a better execution of the concept compared to the one I made earlier in the year. Tried to have fun with it and not over think it. Put together over an hour and a half. Direct recording to stereo for convenience. Made on couch this morning and a bit the night before.
[Delorean Acid]
Made for Delorean Overdrive band. Expecting vocals and the drums to be played live. Just an excerpt for WB I am afraid. Excited to play the full song at the gig and see how it turns out. Been wanting to do a track inspired by Paranoid London and old school acid house. Probably one of my favorite things I went to this year was their show. Had a lot of fun with this one. Felt like I was on the right track when I found myself moving around while working on it like an old raver Hopefully it will get people moving.

Also thank you to everyone who shared kind comments. The all of the WB community has been great. Perhaps I will see you all in 2026

I am also working on a 2 releases based around stuff made for weekly beats this year (Tracks not just from 2024). Hopefully I get around to releasing it in 2025. Album cover was made earlier this year. Just need to work on going back to mix and master.

. I still don't think I could explain what "acid" is a as a genre but I especially dig Delorean Acid haha. Feeling pumped as I get ready to go to bed, have to go back to Wading to settle down
