Finished contract. Was a good a good experience. Felt good to work again. Simple design project perfect to get back into it. Discussed AAPI experiences around movies with client. Asked to recommend me for other business associates. Friend's Giving w/ T&D, T&K, L&R, A, and AL. Discussed music and listened about travel trips. Exchanged perspectives on the online discorse. Planned day to meet with T&D, and A to see Daft Movie at small local community theater. Wanted to support small independent business. Slowing down on listening for the year. Have been listening to several new albums every week for inspiration but not returning to redigest them. Helpful creative inspiration and research but not always for deeper enjoyment and memory. Noticed trend in apple music yearly listening statistics. Top listened to album was an album I had only listened to once and happened to have a longer run time. Wrap up did not include stats on bandcamp cloud listens (where most of my music comes from) so also had lower numbers then what is accurate.

Autism test after watching video of internet personality.  Interesting view into how others experience the world compared to myself hinted. Worked on DO with D. Shared progress on new set build for the rig. First 3 songs backing tracks established. Frustrated over limited time. Watched partner work on her contract. Discussed having limited time for ourselves and trying to limit over working. Hard to do for both of us. She also pushed me to raise wage rates for my services. Was able to squeeze in a bike ride between the cloudy weather. Thinking of picking up a new used bike to replace single speed. Found great options on craig's list (updated Centurion Le Mans RS w/ new paint and modern components). 20 miles on single speed is a bit much and limits possibilities. Looked at speaker for listening in living room. CEO shooting discussions and listening. Also hardware vocoders. Shared acid house history, discussed and watched old Xmas and childhood vhs's from pasts with AL. Wanted to make something short to get this week out of the way. Trying to find more time to work on DO set and use some unfortunately ignored gear. Started by using the S-1 as a bass synth rather than typical polyphony duties. Built patch and dove into see how it could fit in. Made in the evening friday night. Turend down S-1 delay for recording. Working on collecting songs from this year and last WB year. Tried to make this fill in a gap. Undecided if successful. Different scales then usual. Tetra > Flint > S-1 > M8 > DR40 Audio chain. M8 > S-1 > Tetra midi chain. Recorded in one stereo live take. Wife tea ritual in mind.

Mix feels off. Not satisfied but decided to move on. May revisit and try for a slower speed for more breathing room.

Really like the melody in this one and a bit of the acid line as a counter melody of sorts.  Almost like an Aphex Twin vibes with the playfulness.

Digging that acid sound, for sure

mix sounds great to my ears, but can imagine it slower w/ more space and i bet that would also rule. i'm gonna have to go back and listen to yr '22 stuff during the off year.

Really enjoy how much space there is in this, for such a fast-tempo track every part feels really intentionally put together and nothing overwhelms. Seems like this would be really hard to balance, the feeling as a listener is great smile

Haha I've been getting that comparison a lot this year. His music has definitely been an influenced me. Lately I have been thinking about how to develop a more unique signature sound to myself tongue I am always interested in evolving things.

Side note, I think I may have played a show with you several years ago at sub zero festival. Maybe I am remembering wrong though.

Mostly I think the bass synth is a bit flabby (patch can be tighten) and I'd drop the HP filter frequency down on the noise sounds leading to the different sections. It could be worse all things considered smile

I recorded a couple of slower takes. At the time I wasn't sure if I preferred any of them. I was a little ear blind at the time. I think I would go even slower then if I were to have another go.

Thank you for the kind words. TBH I felt like this one was a bit of a dud. It was good to get the practice in though smile Maybe I'll feel differently in the future.
