W38 - Take 3

Continued working on DO. Met almost everyday with bandmates. Spent substantial time driving. Listened to music. Thought about past self while traveling through old city. Strong thoughts on creation and art. Aging. Focussed. Stuck in traffic for hours. Snuck in some bike rides in the morning if I could. Book sale at the shop. Limited on time. Evenings and mornings reserved for partner. Feels strange being apart for work again. Talked with bandmates. Hung out with D's family. Caught up with K. Two very smart and very blonde kids with bright minds. Struggling schools in small towns. Limited resources. Visited VTC for her birthday. Two sons and their partners visit for dinner and cake. T found a wandering dog that was almost hit by several cars near cleared out homeless encampment. Very few people left. Met G. First romantic interest since DMC passed. Similar in some ways but different in others. Light getting familiar. VTC drunker then I have every seen. Still unsure of everything. Feels a bit sorrowful and neutral at the same time. Dynamics feel different. Some good some not so certain.

Days filled with so much preparation, there is no time for much else. Finally got rig running properly. Switched out audio interface, re-cabled, sorted stage look, leveling, live drum sound design, tracked the feedback loop (ended up being midi), and managed a few practice runs as a group (not before rig being fixed). Practices will have to be done solo until the show as M is out of country for the week. D & I are sorted. Remote work. Travel planning still in the air but rooms are sorted.

Made late night on saturday (3am-ish) after working on DO set mixing and refinement. Started 2 different WB projects this week. Another quick one. I have not time for now. Made in 20 minutes-ish again. Generative lead notes with a non generative composition over non generative piano chord pattern. The 2 syntheticleads have a midi tool that stop some midi notes commands (Note On/off) from being passed through probabilistically . Slowly increase likely hood of pass through throughout the composition. Later half of the song randomized piano lead notes added. Played through once and resampled the song. Every time the song is played it will be different.

Called Take 3 because other attempted songs did not work out. Grim needed more time to flesh out and I lost interest. Finished, VCV rack turing machine bug stopped responding to clock after saving. Take 3 was the 3 attempt.

File Names: "W38 - Take 3" Ableton, "W38 - Grim" Ableton (unused), "W38 - Passive" VCV Rack 2 (unused and broken when revisited to record),

Loving the keyboard timbre here--put through dusty reverb rack units coughing to life. Silicon, yet organic, too.

Reading the description while listening, I started hearing the description as a movie voiceover. Loved the melancholy mood with the meandering synth line and piano. The background hiss works nicely.

this sounds like today for me
best to you, and thanks for the music

Yep, yep, sounds familiar. Awesome how the general mood you seem to be experiencing is coming through in the music. Super, super pretty and contemplative.
