Actual birthday is tomorrow. Thank you for all the wish comments last week smile

Worked on Delorean Overdrive songs and struggled to adapt to writing synthwave-ish again but slowly winding up again. Shows are a ways out but would like to progress faster for extra time. Discussed with shrink about being barbaian class. Overtrained mental muscle in endurance. Off of Keto for a while to celebrate. Had food with friends had Vietnamese and pizza again. 40 lbs down. Rode bike 12 miles with AL out to base and along shoreline. Received replacement Aphex Twin hat, Buff Digglet, Goofy movie game, this week. Micordose. Set to leave for home town on the 11th. Nice day with friends.

Started track a week ago while Recording playing with granular and sample from AL on the playdate. Recored improvising through Specular Tempus into DR-40. Yesterday morning spent an hour multitrack improvising and layering over the recording. Liked the original sound from last week. Loose timing. Hand played no interface latency correction. Didn't matter. All parts improvised. Quick master and mix. Doing double song writing this week. Made 4 other song starts for Delorean Overdrive. Short on time and effort with celebration and split focus. Will probably be like that for a while.

Love the thickness in that main bassy synth.  Gave me some 80s horror vibes with how organic everything sounds.  That main synth lurking in the shadows.

I think thats probably the specular Tempus and Romb at work. Those reverbs make everything sound big. I never thought about vocals over this but it wouldn't be a bad idea smile

The bass is the MG-1. I have a love hate relationship with that thing. Not intentionally but I basically ended up actually using all of my old 80's synths on this one. It probably contributes to the 80's vibe tongue

Great buld all the way thru. The delay vox intro reminds me of some AFX track, can't remember which. :-)

Would love to pick up a Playdate some time, the crank and the "passive" screen looks fun.

Months out and I am still playing with the playdate. Exploring the library has been a blast. Sadly I've found the music software to be a bit buggy or useless so I wouldn't recommend it for that though.

Just remembered that it's possible to build your own software on it, too. Should be fun.
