W21 - 2006ish (Learning Renoise after 18 years)

Relatively slow but pleasant week. Perhaps a bit boring even. Daily exercise in the sun, thrift Store Bluray finds (Star Trek TOS Movie collection and Looper 2012), several days eating out with partner. Looked at a lot of old Rave documentaries and footage. It was inspiring. Still reading Boxman. Received new liscences. Had some shifts in mood but none last more then 2 days. Discussed kids, housing, and marriage. A bit of traction anxiety. Talked to brother about his job, VTC, and shared some memes. Reached out to by Gabe and Rob. Followed up on some Superbooth 2024 coverage. Farmers market and Jolie's. Ruby has been exceptionally demanding of attention. Need to observe patterns to check if something is wrong. Discussed with AL about realizing what I creativly want is not inline with what most people want.

File Name: "felszr.xrns" Renoise,
Song made after WB comment conversation about wanting to revisit PC based tracking. Tried trackers for the first time around 2006 with Renoise and LGPT but couldn't figure it out. LSDJ was the first to click after then NES MML, Fami tracker, Cybertracker (64), TFM, LGPT, and DefleMask. Never got on with fast tracker but liked Nitro tracker. Wanted to revisit Renoise this week to see if it make sense now years later. Dove in no manual for 3 hours and came up with this short test song. I could get into it but would have to look up FX commands and explore more to work out some things. The way plug-ins work requires adaptation from DAWs. Made me miss the early days exploring electronic music with bootlegged software and crapy thrift store gear recorded to my old 4 track machine.
Haven't paid for full version so had to record to audacity realtime. Made some mixing adjustments there (volume boosts, trim, and fade out). Most sounds synthesized in plug-ins but pulled some old samples out. Not the worst go at a software I only used a handful of times and haven't revisited in 18 years
