W15 - Malleable

By ENC_ on April 14, 2024 9:23 am

K&N wedding. They are moving south. Happy for them but sad to see them less. Nice seeing J&J. Met new people. Old faces too. Hang out with R&L+P and T&K. K Birthday. Feels accomplished but a bit useless especially w/ VTC argument over visit for paperwork. Resolved. Nanoloop mobile project (Stalk) started in shower. Maybe use next week. M8 session with ambient repeats started inspired by. May abandon. Move to eurorack system and re-try?  Ritual design started on tablet drawing. Med attempt next week. Missed some exercise days. Mixed emotions and tired at the end of the week. Finished reading Raving. A bit un inspired currently. Rough session contemplating Life time and filling it.

Hardware Used:

Xynthesizer
AUM

2 submittable options this week. Both in one file. Acid jam made from last week's material as test with NOTAKLÖN I assembled prior. First Main song made while tinkering in bed on phone. Generative using Live free or die algorithm tuned to C# Phrygian. Experimented with in box (phone) tweeking of effects.

Take done 3 days later and recorded to DR-05, processed in audacity, rerecorded through pedal and re-recorded on other device. Minor treatment in main daw. Rushed Saturday night project. Layers of experimental live improv over the generative pattern (reamp-ish).

File Names: Xynthesizer "Malleable" or "genrtiv" (old instance), Ableton "W15 - Malleable",

dang, bonus song! really enjoyed these. the long slow bed song was a particularly lovely landing this evening
thank you  heart

Super nice. Love that it somehow both feels random yet there is some kind of pattern at the same time. Cool with the acid palette cleanser.

Holy shit, both of these are incredible in the completely opposite ways.
The pads are so lush and the acid is so banging!
10/10!

Oh daaaang!!! I was not prepared for when the second song kicked in, that's some road-tearin' acid you got goin' on there!!! Hahahaha... Awesome work!!!!!

Nice stuff here. That second track, whew! I wasn't ready for that smile

Wow the two go together surprisingly well. The first feels like watching a beautiful scene from a Sci-Fi movie where you don't really know what exactly you're witnessing but know it's important. The second just bops, nice

Hey! Thanks for checking out both songs y'all I am glad you enjoyed them. I honestly wouldn't consider the second on a full song normally but it came together well enough so I thought I'd share. Cheers smile

Ohhhhh, those opening pads are amazing! Just the right amount of filter modualtion and detune.

What parts are going through the NOTAKLÖN?

That's in the second track at 3:36 mark. I ran a tt-303 through the NOTAKLÖN. You can probably tell where it kicks in the test video I made easier.

It's not a hard distortion or even overdrive so it has a particular flavor to it. Not sure It would be my go to way to process a 303 but it'd be interesting in certain cases.
