Took it easy after week with friends. Feeling under the weather. "Heat wave" all week. Tried to stay still and sleep to recover for flight out to cousin's wedding reception in Atlanta. Nice to to drive around as much. A shame about not being able to participate in the sunny weather. Perfect for biking and park visits. Archery injuries nearly done healing. Dove a bit into the history of NYC Garage music. Traveled to cousin's wedding on father's side. Youngest. Saw family I had not seen in over 10 years. Flight out was ok. Flight back from Atlanta.... chaos. Stayed at hotel with VTC and AL. Had a pleasant time driving us, visiting the Gone with the wind museum, and reconnecting with family meeting their kids for the first time. Learned about father more through uncles.

Media consumed: The Orville, American Dad, Resident Alien, Love on the Spectrum, Star Trek Strange New Worlds, Selected Stories of Philip k. Dick by Philip k. Dick, The Age of Magical Over thinking by Amanda Montell, 1, 2*, 3,

Gear Used:
Dirtywave M8

Software Used:
Izotope Ozone 10

Started previous Sunday while killing time waiting for AL to wake. Bulk of track made then. Tightened up a few days later. Tinkering with live changes by mapping M8's screen to open filter of synths. Rarely use that feature. Out of practice with M8. Took break and have been working w/ PC style trackers, modular, and groove boxes. A low effort due to not feeling well. Nothing ambitious. Just practice and reacquaintance w/ a tool I took a break from.

This is great, very much in the Syro sound zone with those dry drums and bendy lead. What's your m8 setup like on the synth side?

I'm oddly into the weekly media reports you give. Keep them coming. I'm also scared to ask about archery injury. smile

Nice tracker jam, good use of the filter tweak, I enjoyed it a lot.

Really funky synths on this.

Great work.

even your "low effort" offerings are fun to listen to  smile

i enjoyed what i watched of Love on the Spectrum. sometimes things like that can feel exploitative, but i felt it was respectful and had some really sweet moments

Always an interesting listen, I really like the rhytms you got going on smile

P.S. I'm wishing for a heat wave // a scandinavian

It's all pretty basic stuff.

Tracks 6,7,8 reseverved for sample drums - 8 used for BD's, 7 highhats and cymbals, 6 everything else. random pitch and volume modulated to give motion to samples. tight Pitch envelope on bigger kick sample to add extra transient punch.

Tracks 1,2,3 used for main polyphonic sequence - Wavesynth saw w/ volume and cutoff envelopes and filter note tracking, small multi lfo modulation.

Track 1 (switch in mid section) chord stabs - hypersynth through BP filter with basic envelopes. Cutoff envelope set to half value of volume decay. cutoff env under half for amount.

Track 4 acid line - wavesynth 50% square into ZDF LP, basic envelopes cutoff w/ low amount, ADSR env for volume set to quick release on off, filter note tracking, mapped cutoff to x access of screen to live play by sliding finger around.

Track 5 Bass - FM sine with pitch, volume envelopes, cutoff envelopes, slight amping in post:w3 mode.

haha nothing terrible injury wise. When firing the bow, the string snapped to hit my left wrist. Ended up with a welt and some nasty bruising. Looked worse than it was. We didn't have arm guards so I was relying on my technique to avoid hitting myself... obviously, I need some practice tongue

Your too kind smile

I see why some criticize the show. Personally, I find it liberating to see the normative biases of media being opened up. It's reality TV so it's messy but, on a high level I like the conversations it opens viewers too. We all have variations in how we experience and navigate the world, it's nice to see a show try to represent that.

Thank you for checking it out smile

Where I grew up, summers often go to 110˚F (43˚C), so I am pretty used to the heat. For my wife, anything above 75˚F (24˚C) is too hot due to the moderate climate she grew up in. We had a heat wave for my wife's region but it felt like perfect weather to me tongue I always tease her about it.

Wishing you warm weather my friend! As a Californian, I couldn't handle your colds.

100%. well said

So many awesome sounds in this.  The drums have such a good feel to them. Love that acid lead too.  Hope you are feeling better!

The different parts blend together really well rhythmically, and the bendy bass is super pleasing.

Thanks! Honestly, I am not a fan of this one. It feels focred to me, on review. I haven't been using M8 tracker much recently so I need a little practice to get back into my former flow state. I used it so much I've been a bit burnt out on it's system. I have been looking for different environments to stay stimulated. I've been enjoying Renoise and LSDJ lately. I find jumping between workflows helps keep me engaged.
