what do you do when you can't keep time

but time keeps passing you by?

I feel the urgency of time tickin through the slick groove of shakers and percussion.  Suhweet use of the reverb/delay on your vocals too.  Well done! smile

Love this - such an early 80s goth vibe. Great theme and ambience. I want an album like this.

love the beat, sparse production, vocals, and theme.

my favorite emily song (this week)!
tick tick tick tick tick tick tick...

Simultaneously minimalist and super full sounding.  Great vocal ambience on this one as well.

The precise beat and drifting vocal is drilling deep into my brain while listening. Well done.

been thinking a lot about the passing of time lately (just had a bday). scratched my brain in all the right ways! love the concept and execution heart

Using shakers for the beat is such a nice touch. You get both the precision of a clock but with a more natural and groovy element. Nice track, perfect for weekly beats.

The beat at the very start had me thinking of "The Promise" by When in Rome, a great song but a very different feeling haha. I like the simple bass line here, giving everything else lots of space. The variety in percussion is also so effective!

Agreed with this, the sudden switch to more of a swing/shuffle feels is really cool.

Fun beat! The lyrics hit home pretty hard too.

Strange how there's such an emphasis on keeping time, when time does not even exist. And yet, I have to admit time affects me. I have not found a way to step outside of time.. Yet

I like how this song somehow manages to express the anxiety about time while also remaining playful and open. At least that's how it felt to me when listening.

Love the ring out of that snare.

This is very gothy 80’s sounding, love it!
