saturday morning

By emily on September 12, 2020 5:33 pm

standing in my garden on saturday morning the crickets are in full symphony

the giant Arigope spider is spinning a new web on the garage to catch the flies that are enjoying the compost

it is gently overcast here in the midwest - there is a light mist on the vegetable plants who have perked up in the cool weather after months of intense 9+ uv indexes...

the bumblebee's are humming around gathering pollen

but you can't hear them over the duet of air compressors (yes 2 neighbors are running them simultaneously), the weed whacker, car motors revving, & folks shouting in their outside voices over these sounds (one wonders - is constant high level noise causing them to have hearing loss necessitating their communication volume?)...

a weird person holding a laptop stands in the garden - takes this all in and attempts to document the energetic fields & find a way to process them

The atmosphere in this track is amazing. Great work.

Your work gives me Chelsea Wolfe vibes sometimes (e.g. Movie Screen). Particularly this one, the atmosphere is eerie due to the combination of metallic and natural sounds.

quite elegant, i really enjoyed this one. a lot of subtle sounds here to pick out. introspective feelings. thank you. fav.

You did a good job processing.

That's a cool backstory for the track. The fact that you went with these eery pads on top is interesting. For some reason, I am thinking this is from the point of view of the spider.

You are a genius at turning domestic lemons into glorious avant lemonade.

This is really inspiring.  I love these field recording soundscapes and want to make one like this.  Did you ever see the horror film Sinister?  There are some terrific field recordingy sound pieces and this would have been perfect in it.
