What Happened to That

It has guitars and synths and vox and stuff. I try to make it so it's hard to tell what parts are me playing guitar and what parts are synths. I'm sure you wizards will know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I believed that we were soulmates
With a love to last the ages
We were writing our own storybook
Filling all the empty pages
Oh babe, what happened to that?

You believed that you’d found happiness
You confessed to all your friends
You had found the one you’d always love
Who would be there ‘til the end
Tell me, what happened to that?

I always heard that distance makes the heart grow fonder
So tell me why the day I left was when yours started to wander.
Tell me why for better or for worse
Turned into something twisted and perverse
The greatest thing in all the universe
We had it all but it was simply squandered

When we held hands and I swore an oath to you
We believed that we’d grow old together
You held mine while you swore that oath too
Thick and thin and any kind of weather
What happened to that?

I always heard that distance makes the heart grow fonder
So tell me why the day I left was when yours started to wander.
Tell me why for better or for worse
Turned into something twisted and perverse
The greatest thing in all the universe
We had it all but it was simply squandered

Oh tell me
Please tell me
If you know
What happened to that?

Fun bass popping sound. Definitely picking up a bit of a Paul Simon vibe but more electronic. Alway love you vocal arrangements and putting in the work on the lyrics.  Nice work!

The synth-guitar combination sounds cool and I liked the little instrumental break a lot.  Thanks for sharing the lyrics!

I need the guitar a SCOOTCH louder.  Love the frenetic bass and drum fill.  Cool synth solo smile

The music is really happy but the lyrics are really melancholy to me, great contrast.

The guitar is neat, but that bass is slapping like a madman. What happened to that?
