Back to my rock roots. There are no synths in this song. Just a couple guitars, drums, a bass, and vocals.

Lyrics:
He tries to control you on your wall for all the world to view.
He tries to make you feel guilt for the things that make you you.
There really is no level to which he wouldn't stoop.
And I know that when you're sick he'd never make you chicken soup.
Well, that ain't love to try to fill your heart with guilt.
And that ain't love to try to make you slowly wilt.
To make you think there are things you're undeserving of.
Well, I don't know what that is but that ain't love.
Sometimes life gets tough and it gets hard to face your day.
That's when he asks you why you are "acting this way?"
Why can't he see you for everything you are?
Why does he try to hide away your shining star?
Well, that ain't love to try to fill your heart with guilt.
And that ain't love to try to make you slowly wilt.
To make you think there are things you're undeserving of.
Well, I don't know what that is but that ain't love.

I always dig the sound of the standard rock setup. I like your lyrics, although I was trying to read them along with the song and it seems like they're a little different in the first verse. A last minute change?
Yes, it says “small” instead of “guilt” now because I liked the internal rhyme. And the second half of the verse changed to something that more people will probably connect with than the two people in the world who might possibly have a clue what I was referring to with the “chicken soup” line.
All this is just you? Wow.
All this is just you? Wow.
Everything but the drums. For drums, I usually use Addictive Drums 2 (which I did for this). Occasionally, I create a beat on a piano roll using sampled percussion’s which was what I did last week. On rare occasions, I’ve even recorded the percussion samples.
I played my Seagull acoustic for the rhythm guitar, my kit built arch top electric ( thefretwire.com ) for the lead guitar, my U-bass for the bass guitar, and all the vocals are me.
Great job. When you did the spoken part I was sort of expecting a guitar thing like Zappa did at the end of Muffin Man. Here is a you tube live from 1977. Personally I think the tune has one of his best solos. Maybe not this version although this version is really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jh6wnmRbvQ even without the guitar solo the end is quite good.

I'm only a mediocre guitar soloist so don't expect anything too flashy from me.

My goodness, that harmony in the lyrics is ascending to a different plane of existence.
Reminds me a bit of Solid Rock by Goanna (great song), with a dash of Talking Heads... and your own uniqueness... cOoL!
