Raspberry Jam

I built a new guitar from a kit that I got on thefretwire.com.  It's an archtop hollow body.  I splurged and bought the Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded pickups for it.  Spent a couple days sanding and staining its wood (maple body and neck and rosewood fretboard--I left the fretboard naked, although I plan to get some lemon oil for it).

This recording was pretty much just me noodling around with the new guitar for two tracks and adding a few effects.  Then I played a synth part on my Akai MAX49 keyboard.  I used Presonus Studio One's built in "Presence" synth with a preset called "Bad Lead."

Oh, it also has some drums.

Evil blues-rock, excellent!

Love that nice scuzzy distortion sound.  It's also super cool that it's a guitar that you built.  The synth is a neat contrasting element, too.  Adds some real sonic interest.

Moonshine blues.  Dirty dirty.  And what an apt synth preset name.  Haha.  Digging the grit of the guitar.  Post a pic?

Very nice distorted blues feel. Your new guitar sounds good!
(Didn't know you could get DIY-kits for guitars, that's quite cool.)
