Too little / too late

By drmindflip on March 9, 2014 8:41 pm

Happy Monday morning to all! I've basically been housebound and mopey for the week - doing my best House impression - and I'm utterly delighted to have finished anything at all! My room has turned into a kind of floor-based musical nest and I'd highly recommend that everyone tries constructing something similar at least once smile

Thank you once more for sharing your amazing musical minds here - both via your thrilling submissions and the generous comments you all keep leaving me. I really do appreciate it smile

This is a surreal, bitter little lemon slice - hope you enjoy it!

Too little / too late:

You say that I’m falling from grace right now?
The back of your head has my face
How it howls!
"I’ll see you when you come down tomorrow"
This shit’s been such a let down
Too little too late
Two insurmountable walls you erect
I’ve bashed my skull off them all
And yet you’ve clawed at every work-round
No, no, no
I’m black and blue and broke down
Too little too late

I’m sorry to say that we’ve come to the end of the line
The dreams that you cling to just ain’t gonna ring true this time
Dissolving our smiles into piles at the scene of the crime
We never did have that aforementioned whale of a time
No!

This is where I sulk…
And see how much you like it! Too childish?
Come on and undermine it
Too little too late
I gave you my heart, I gave you my soul
Gave me a hatful of impurities, doubt, insecurities
Take em and make em yours!
Make em yours
That’s give and take

Save me from this importunity and bury me in a shallow grave
Where fortune shares serenity with what’s left of me
Dig me up, send me some other place where loving hands can fix me
Into some delightful shape
A brand new man

This is pure Genius, I'm in love with the production on the vocals on this one.

Your number 10 is my number 1 smile

Thanks guys! Glad you dig it smile

This is amazing. There is nothing else out there like this. I occassionally write a song where I say, "there's no way I can place this in a genre,"but you're on a whole other level.

Wonderful track! Reminds me a bit of a slightly more restrained version of Mr Bungle

The composition is great and the voice work is outstanding. The emotions you communicate with your voice is really something special. Great work!

really awesome. True talent! Reminiscing your tracks over the past few weeks it feels like you'r getting more and more confident in what you're doing and in developing your personal style even further. Keep it up, it's outstanding!

Well, that was enjoyable! Weeeee!

Wow! Great piano playing and holy cow, your vocals are incredible! Love the AHHHHs toward the end...nice touch.

I feel like I'm repeating myself when I comment on your tracks, but damn it there's a reason for that! this is good! smile The piano and your vocals are perfectly in sync.  I really like the backup harmonies as well.  *claps for an encore* (next week!)

This is EXACTLY what about to write. Reminiscent of some tracks off California. Excellent work.

Top work - impressive piano work and overall top-notchedness!

PS: I utterly heart California - thanks for the compliment!

No problem. You deserve it. The quality of this song is top notch. Well done on channeling your inner Mike Patton.

Thank you very much! I'm pretty much self-taught and do things by ear, so it's nice to receive compliments like that smile

Very well crafted and executed song.
