Audacious Jig

By dreat on June 14, 2026 2:43 pm

I finally found a "recipe" for trash jig.

It's in 7/4, characteristics are 3x quarter note, 4x 8th triplets (thou this might vary).

B'B'A'A'B'B'A'A'

E dorian (obviously tongue )

if anyone wants to try it big_smile

rendered as a loop

I know it's pretty audacious to "create a style" within foreign folk tradition, but I did it out from my appreciation for the music and wanted to give it my little spin.

I love this! I think the pattern you’ve established fits well with other established styles, but blazes its own path. I would love to hear this mixed into a set - start with a jig (6:8), then a trash jig (7:4), and then go to a slip jig (9:8). The little stagger in the trash jig would be a great contrast to other styles.

So cool. I need to play with this smile smile
