Used a mic to record the song from an old broken music box I found (and repaired). Cleaned and chopped up the sample and built a song around the tune. I never knew how amazingly engineered these things are until I took it apart.

Used/modified several old (2022) m8 instruments from here.

sick track! its impressive where a broken music box can take you. i also want to try out more "organic" samples in my production in the future, this was a cool idea.

that pluck sounds really good, nice work on that! cool idea!

Thanks for the listen! I really had fun making this one.

Thanks it took a few tries, I had to place the music box on top of another small wooden box while it played to make it loud enough for recording.

Yes, thank you for noticing the dark synths are very swinelike. Lol

Joy of sampling... Lovely work, I especially the way the lead seems to go in all directions. The overall vibe is unreal!

Thanks so much for the listen. The vibe was a happy accident and I decided to just "go with it".

Love the overall groove of the track.  The kick snare is a killer combo punching thru the mix.  The morse code stutter effect is really cool too.  Gotta love the happy accidents smile

Thanks friend. The morse code I owe 100% to ilzxc's HOTLIME m8 instrument- I tweaked it to change the "code" smile. Thanks to everyone who contributes to that pack!

infections drums, bring out the noise makers!

Hey, if I knew you were planning on being ill I would've made something more soothing... smile

That is awesome use of the samples, also a goal of mine this year to record some of my own sounds of random objects to mix in.  This has a really nice flow to it and all the switch ups through out keep everything fresh.

Hey man, I really appreciate it. Music is hard and I really appreciate the encouragement from everyone here.

This is so cool, love the broken up structure. All the sounds fit together so nicely and the vibe is refreshing and unique. sick
