Ubud Frog Pond

By Dot.AY on May 5, 2024 11:28 am

Alright easing myself backin basically had a month off as life got busy and once you let one slide its easy to let others. So this week I have a binaural field recording of a frog pond, it might not be composition as you know it but I did spend a bunch of time finding the mic placement spot as well as sitting still for a good 15mins to capture this section. Love hearing the different sounds of nightime creatures in different countries.

Recorded at a Lilly Pond at night in Ubud, Bali.

Had to check this out because of the title alone - also fitting, because the toads are singing like crazy today in Wisconsin.

Not music in the traditional sense, but absolutely musical. I enjoyed the two frogs at the beginning, and almost laughed out loud when the third voice joined in around 1:22. The entire thing almost had a pattern and back-and-forth like a song. Absolutely enjoyed it.

Yeah that’s how I felt about it to! There are hints and some slight variation to the middle plus the new voices and slow repetitions that really do grab you when listening

this is wonderful, thanks for this
