Take Out The Fash

By DonutShoes on July 7, 2024 11:23 pm

I was hoping to finish this yesterday and not 40 minutes before deadline, but I was so distracted by GDQ and it got too late to honk my sax some more!

Probably obvious but this is heavily inspired by bands like Too Many Zooz and Moon Hooch. I also just recently discovered a band from the UK called "O." that does fun stuff running a bari sax through guitar pedals.

All I have is a tenor sax so I used Manipulator to octavize it and get some low growly sounds. The mix is a *little* crunchy, but honestly I was having too much fun driving everything into clippers and limiters I couldn't be bothered to figure out how to clean it up lol, so enjoy all the dirt tongue

sub bass and sax was not on my bingo card but I am glad it came up tongue

I'll have to check out those bands.

I am so HERE for that dirt! heart
This goes hard

this is sick! every individual sound in here is amazing and somehow they collided together to make something great.

The crunch sounds fantastic! Love that the sax ensemble all starts from a real sax… sounds great, gives sort of a synth-y feel to it…and the pairing with the beats and bass is just chef’s kiss. Great track!

Also super here for the dirt!  ~( °٢° )~ ... I also really like the overall arrangement, nice flow... and definitely leaves me wanting more of of that gritty sax sound.

Sidenote... I can't BELIEVE I totally spaced that SGDQ was last week... and I even had time to watch... (ಥ﹏ಥ)

this is rad!
