Greenhouse Meditation

Wanted to do something very different for this week so I spent some time in one of my favorite creative coding IDEs, Processing 4, and cooked up a physics based, aleatoric MIDI generator.
For a day job, I work on a small family owned veggie farm. The season is just starting back up again as it's finally spring where I am, and a lot of the first work we do is in the greenhouse. We plant lots of stuff in there including all the seedlings that will be used to plant in the field like lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, brassicas, you name it.
I love springtime greenhouse work. The greenhouse has such a cozy atmosphere. The acoustics are very damped and intimate feeling in there because of the soft plastic walls, all the raised beds full of dirt and hanging baskets with newly planted escarole and lettuce in them. There's a persistent smell of petrichor from daily watering, and when it's a rainy day, the soundbath of the rain against the thin greenhouse roof and walls is cathartic.
I often find myself wanting to explore this sensation through music. So I hope this piece gives you a chance to sit back, relax, and get some nice meditation in for a few minutes.
