Simone sauve mon Robot

By djippy on March 24, 2024 2:58 am

Finally, a solution emerged so the Robot can revive!!!

Chord progression was inspired by this week Bertrude's Jam, recorded the guitars and synth bass Friday, Drum, solo guitar and vocals Saturday. Will be out of town tomorrow so early upload! smile

Didn't "really" mix yet. I feel that vocals might be more audible, maybe thin out the guitars a bit, frankly today I don't really know but this is what I have and even if probably not totally happy with the mix, very happy with the track.

Lyrics:

I love this mix, strong vocals and strong guitars are good
Don't know what the words mean tho

Dude I love the music, but I'm in this for the story. He fuckin lives! He lives!

I'm not the best judge for the vocal mix since I'm listening, but reading the translation, so I can't speak for audability. I like where it sits now though. It's got that very mid-2000s, the vocal is an instrument and down here with us in the garage vibe.

Favorited. I hope this isn't the end!

So good. I wish I knew another language. It'd be super fun to try to make an album in Italian, or maybe some super uncommon language this year...

Sounds great. Even with my much-disused French Incan hear and understand the lyrics it's fine. And the finale guitar chords and solo are soooo great, such a fantastic mood. Loved it!

I'm a huge Grandaddy fan and a sucker for any song about a robot. This one rocks!

Mix sounds good to me! Goosebumps right at 4 minute mark. Loving the robot story too. C'est très créatif.

I just love your style! Great guitar solos/harmonies around 3min. Favorited

It is about a guy that had a broken robot, couldn't pay for the fix but a beautiful girl was able to fix it for cheaper than the crook at SOS Robot shop... And finally his Robot is FIXED!!! (and I think this guy kind of like this girl...)

Thanks for the comment, I probably won't tweak that much the levels then... smile

Very happy that you like the journey!

I'll stick to this for another 10 - 15 more mins of material so I can release a LP, so I have to find some other ideas to continue the story... (I might go for one other instrumental too, not sure yet.) This one would have been a good last track, robot revives, the guy likes a girl and will see her later, happy days! But now I'll try to just find a bit more of juice to the story! There is tons that can go right or wrong going on a date with an intimidating lady so I should be able to find something wink.

I am not that great in English, I just was lucky that I live in Québec province where we speak the language of love! Thanks a lot for the kind comment, you are on a streak too this year, loads of super good song. Love your Trip hop journey and more industrial vibes sometimes, super punchy with "tormented" vocals.

Merci! Yeah, those descending chords works pretty good... Some distortion - some reverb - some hi octaves and Voilà!!!

Thanks a lot! yeah, those hi notes with some distortion works allright! Robots and Guitars for the win!

I would upgrade your robot, if you need one.

beautiful song, feels like i'm there, being captivated by it in person

yeah, don't change the mix! I was captured right away. Guitars remind me of Guided By Voices!

Cool sound and vibe, yeah mix seems fine! Love the vocal! I don't speak French. I think it sounds so cool to hear it.

Love the story-like chord progression as the song unfolds. Guitar solo wails \m/ and sounds extra powerful when doubled with that higher synth (i think synth).  A wall of sound with the drum fills and guitar at the end smile

hell yeah, this is great! love that triumphant guitar lead  heart

Ok! Didn't know guided by voices, did listen a bit of it and their guitars are pretty cool so very pleased with the comment.

It is just the same guitar track with an up octave vst... smile
Thx!

Trying to go "epic" ish... Thanks!

Yes, those guitars are epic at the end! Really cool end to the track, brings it up and goes big. Nice one!

This chord progression is really awesome, a great foundation for your vocals of which I really enjoyed the delivery. The tones and mix are perfect for the mood too. That lead guitar towards the end with the octave up effect was delightful.

Quite a story! Thanks for including the lyrics. I'm happy to see that all the French I studied in high school still remains somewhere in the back of my mind, I think I understand at least 75% of the lyrics.

I love the raw quitar coupled with the gentle singing, it creates a dynamic clash that somehow works. Cool! And I love the dramatic solo on the end.
