On the right track getting back

By djippy on March 6, 2022 2:32 am

A "cheat" this week, and only partially my fault... Did plan first to give you something else that I started to record early this week but I asked to a friend if he could do a collaboration on this, and finally he will not be able to send anything on time.

Didn't want to complete that this Sunday as he is interested to work on what I did send to him, he is just slow...

And I am not home this Saturday, will be back home only late tomorrow, so I am digging on my laptop for some un-release stuff. I do have this Bertrude song that is almost ready to be released so this will be it.

I play drums on the track, did all the "engineering" (place mics and pressed the record button) and mixing. I am NOT too happy with the mix, but we will probably hire someone that knows what he does before we release that "for real"...

So here it is, a track from our band. It is rough (as usual, that is what we do).

Some guitars (I sadly do not own any of those, they are Niko and Mitch guitars)

ROCK!

It definitely rocks and has that cool raw in-the-room feel to it, which is always nice.  Hopefully your friend comes through on the collaboration.  Having to depend on other people sometimes isn't great.

Got a real 70s vibe to it. Also, I can understand the lyrics! Man, that hook at 1:50: the guitars, drums, and vocals come together perfectly for the lead up and delivery of "I'm on the right track getting back". Very tasty ending the song the same way.

Great job!

Good job! I love the vibe.

This rocks. Down n dirty. Got my head bumping. Yes.
Also, enjoying the photos you're including, I like seeing other people's spaces and setups, would be cool to see more of this on WB!

I love the rough aesthetic.

That intro reminded me of When Doves Cry's intro by Prince. The vocals sound great! The voice similar to Anthony Kiedis except that your singer can actually sing. smile (Kiedis is entertainig but not really the best vocalist in live situations). Un bon morecau de rock, ca fait du bien!

I hear you on the collab timeline thing.  Hard to coordinate with people outside WB since they are not in this deadline mindset.  Cool track though, nice and grungy.  Tasty looking guitar collection that Niko and Mitch have too!

Nice fuzztone bass and hard driving drums! Mix sounds good to me! kind of raw.

great track, i think you just need to compress the vocals a bit so they get squished in.  and i'd say a little reverb too.

but the instruments sound really good together.

man, i really need to write music like this!

LOVE THE PICTURES

more pictures of your gear and your beard and cool outdoor sculptures please smile

loved the sustained feedback.

honestly was expecting a guitar solo after that wink
