My love left me for Christmas

By djippy on December 7, 2024 2:21 pm

Hey crew!

This is a fiction, didn't occur to me yet! smile Everything is going not bad here.

Tried to approach this track as a live performance take as a one man band (Which I did excepts for the back vocals...) Did capture the performance with my cell phone as well, it is not one vid a week for me, but I'll have done one at least!!!

Some Ableton Looping. With only 2 notes it ain't THAT BAD to play a little synth line + drums + vocals...

I was actually impressed that I could build this up pretty quickly. The little vocal line just came up like that...

Enjoy!

Sorry about the abrupt ending, didn't know how to "close" this one. Take care all!

(glad your love didn't really leave you)

(WAIT WHY DID YOU SAY "YET"????)

I'm happy about your optimism by saying it hasn't happened **yet**, hahahahaha...
Super cool that this is mostly built up from mainly two notes!

Exactly as depressing as advertised.

Cool to see the setup from overhead and I like how the track builds from pretty minimal to something pretty big and raw sounding.

That looks like a fun productive setup to work with!  Suhweet groove between the drums and synth bass.

Pretty cool video, dj ippy, and nice work as a one man band. I'm afraid I couldn't even push play on Ableton an play the triangle at the same time, so deep respect.

Extra kudos again for making the video. I need a camera in the roof, so I could feel like Orange Drink for 1 day wink

I did say "YET" because you need to be ready for anything!!! It has been 13 years now with my girlfriend so I suspect it will be fine for this years one for sure... smile

Thanks for the kind word!

Thanks! It was a fun one to do and pretty happy I was able to play all the (simple) parts on the same take.

Maybe not? Maybe my love and myself were in a toxic relationship and this will be for the best? smile
Thanks a lot for coming back week after week! MUch appreciated! (And sorry I don't comment back as much as I should)

I am super fortunate to have all those cool toys, and yeah everything is hooked up, no need to patch anything, mics are always there so it is super fast to be ready to "arm" track and record. I would need a piano wink probably will have one at some point. But for now this little 2 octaves controller will do!

Yeah, no way I am doing that every weeks... smile (Who knows, maybe in 2026 when the kids are 2 years older!)

And you need your two hands to play triangle so you would have to press button with your feets so it is absolutely normal that you couldn't play triangle and operate an Ableton push at the same time!

Take care all! Thanks a lot for the comments!

nice job, and cool to see your setup on the video! satisfying when the power chords come in \m/

Nice work! I love working with the "one man band" constraint to build up a song. I think you use it to great effect here.
