L'usine du père Noel

By djippy on December 6, 2020 2:40 pm

This is where the elves are working hard and kind of exhausted at this time of the year. Last stretch before everything is ready for Christmas.

I think it could have been a better track, but it is what it is. smile

Yeah those guys work hard as shit in December, I bet the OT is great though.  Sweet tune this week,  I’m digging the vocoder mixed with jingle bells.

Cool, totally different sound for you than what I would expect.  Much more electronic.  Vocoder is a great touch.  Are you playing live jingle bells and drums?

The point was to go for "machinery" sounds, didn't put as much time on the track as I wanted to, in my mind I wanted to add an electric bass line on it but was not able to finally.

No it is all electronic, except the vocals (which I finally removed the dry signal to just leave the vocoder version...) I did "play" the bells with my midi controller, did move some stuff a little more on the grid.
I didn't actually played those drums, it was just a midi file from addictive drums 2, on one of the Fairfax vol 2 kit.
I did use the same midi file on the "annoying" synth that makes in my mind some toy machinery sounds. The idea of this song is that you are on a busy workshop, with loads of tired elves that really want to be finally December 25th so they can have the week off. With a little more work I think it could be a fun holiday track.

Happy holidays!

To use a vocoder and the jingle bells in one song is so nice.

Low key putting up the spirit quite well.

This came out nice. I like the voice. I'm in the spirit!

Awesome work. Such a surprise compared to what I'm used to hearing, but this is really cool too. The vocals are a really nice touch.

Ah bien joue, ca donne une bonne ambiance pour les fetes. Bonne idee de theme et j'aime vraiment bien l'atmosphere de ce track. C'est different de ce que tu fais d'habitude!

Free vocoder plugin for the win. (TAL-Vocoder), it does the job.

Some of the tracks way out of my "style" or confort zone that I did this year are very fun.
