Le convoi de la liberté

What the fuck is that...

This one was done on 3 small sessions.

Started earlier this week thinking about going in an AC DC straight rock n roll song... Cranked the snare more than what I am used to do. After recording drums starting to track guitar, the tone I was getting sent me to some kind of Weezer tone. (end of session one)

Then I was thinking about tracking some bass guitar, but I was with the laptop on my bed with headphones, so I just tracked-programmed some synth bass before go to sleep and I think it suits the track well.

Wanted to add some vocals on this one as it did feel like it was missing something but didn't have any ideas about what I should sing about.

There are anti-sanitary mesures protests at the moment in Quebec and Ottawa, didn't hear much sensible, intelligent speeches from those protestants who say that they are doing that in the name of liberty. Individual liberties vs collectivity, that is a definitively good theme and I didn't do it justice with the lyrics of that tune, but this is what this one is about...

I am not sure about how I did process those vocals, but anyways! ANOTHER ONE DONE!

ROCK!

Love the drum sound!

Awesome man, quite rock and roll.  Mix sounds great too, you gotten so much better at mixing from when I first started listening to your tracks.  Not saying they were bad last year, but just the complexity and clarity of your tracks has grown a ton.  Keep it up!

Also, I've got some friends in Ottawa so I saw a bunch of pics of those protests.  Sorry you guys have to deal with that!  Thought that was just the US's problem...

I get a slightly stoner rock vibe, with the laid back riff, with some punk vibe as well with the theme. J'ai bien aime, ca fait du bien avec des bons riffs qui fuzzent. smile

We are not better than you guys... Thanks a lot for the kind comments for the mix, the truth is that I don't have much time to put on the mix and that now I have some go-to presets that seems to work ok. This is most likely just luck lol.

Have a good start of the week all! See you next time.

I've always thought you've been great at achieving raw and rocking sounds and this is no exception.  Sounds like a good topic for a song to me as well.

drums sound great!  love the "stop start" sections.  synth bass solo was good for variety.  this is super raw in a good way

no comment on those protesters!

Love the sounds and the comment on liberty versus collective, dig it!

There's some really cool riffing going on throughout this tune, I especially like those parts where the "synthy" aspect of the synth bass cuts through the mix when it's either super low or there's a brief moment of silence and it's hanging out.

this track sounds very grunchy and juicy. well done.

This has a cool gothic sound more than the straight AC/DC. Grandiose and menacing at moments! I also like that synth bass against the rock guitars. Super rockin outro!  I've been following the protests in Quebec and Ottawa on the news.  Might spill over to the USA later this week.  Nice to know not all the idiots are in my country smile

Rockin, nice!

This track sounds like it was pulled out of a sewer and then lit on fire, I love it!

Nice vocals dude!!! Strong work smile
