Just another guit drum jam

By djippy on July 10, 2022 11:01 pm

Did record a jam that I did with guitarist of Bertrude this Thursday, a close mic on the guit cab, one condenser mic that points to the drums.

Loads of compression, added some short plate reverb to both guit and drum mic. Did chose 4 mins of the 15 mins jam, cut paste the bits...

you both rock very well. slow but intense. the micpositions seem to be placed very effective, too.

You consistently capture an awesome raw rocking sound and this is no exception.  There's a good sense of dynamics on this one as well.

I like the capture of these moments, when you can hear the guitar and drums locking in, reacting to each other. That's what a good jam is about! Bien joue!

Super fun rock out jam. Agree with

Definitely rocked my head to the groove of the drums and emotion of the guitar \m/

Really cool grittiness between the guitar and drums.  The thickness of the guitar gave me feels of Clutch or the Black Keys.   It also takes me back to the small jams me and the drummer fraind from my old band used to have in between practice.  Excellent jam!  High five!

Did enjoy a lot, feels cozy

Thanks!
With less mics, mic position is less important... smile But yes it work good, the "drum" mic does get loads of guitars as well which "helps" with bigger guit sound. It was basically maybe 2 meters in front of the kit, about 2m hi as well. Guit cab mic is classic close mic close to the center of the speaker.

Niko would be pretty happy about the Clutch and Black Keys comments as we are quite fan of those 2 bands. (especially the "less produced" black keys ones)

This is pretty much the intent to make you guys feel like you are in the room with us.

ROCK!

A beautiful vibe here, and great drums as always. Easy to bliss out to this sound.
