Lady 3Jane

By Disposable Planet on August 4, 2024 9:49 pm

"Lady 3Jane Marie-France Tessier-Ashpool had carved herself a low country flush with the inner surface of Straylight's hull, chopping away the maze of walls that was her legacy.  She lived in a single room so broad and deep that its far reaches were lost to an inverse horizon, the floor hidden by the curvature of the spindle.  The ceiling was low and irregular, done in the same imitation stone that walled the corridor.  Here are there across the floor were jagged sections of wall, waist-high reminders of the labyrinth."

The Color of Television, Neuromancer-inspired album, Track #10 - "Lady 3Jane"

Back from Denmark (which was a blast) and time to continue these uploads.   This week we have the clone heiress of the Tessier-Ashpool Corporate Empire, Lady 3Jane.   Her family is like a stack of old vinyl records complete with some generation loss.   Lady 3Jane's tune is a sad one, to reflect the fragility underneath.   Some melancholy synths and a breakbeat with a little bass and some piano accompaniment.   She's a clone whose mother started the the chain of events playing out in the novel.   She haunts the twisting corridors of the Straylight Villa with her trusty assassin Hideo (more on him next week).   Her full name is Lady 3Jane Marie-France Tessier-Ashpool.

Thanks for listening so far!  More to come!  Next week will be the vat-grown ninja assassin himself, Hideo!

Hope you enjoy it.  It’s all made according to WB rules.  Thanks for tuning in

Beautiful and crisp (and spot-on, thematically)

It's been years (decades?) since I read Neuromancer―but as I remember it, this captures the situation perfectly.

Thanks ineff! I put a lot of thought into this one to get each character right and sprinkle some Easter eggs and stuff from the book into the waveforms and music.   Completely thrilled you connect with it

The time implies that, however fragile, she has a can-do attitude.
