Ideas

This... is stretching the definition of "finished". I missed last week as I was on a fun vacation out in Congaree National Park and I thought to myself, surely I'll be able to make a beat while out hiking and exploring. Instead, I just got sick while hiking and exploring and recorded a few ideas into my phone that did not get completed (or worked on at all).

Much like the last weekly beats challenge, I have noticed if I ever miss a week, that week after is so much harder to pick up the keyboard or guitar and make something. This week was no different. So this is a bunch of different ideas I had and barely what I would consider a coherent song.

Hope you all had more success than me, onward to next week.

Congrats about coming back to it!

The drop - beat at 41 secs is great. Love the tremolo on the "vox" patch.

Very cool beat, and the little guitars at the end is great. Is it played or a curated sample?

I do normally play any guitar in my pieces but this one wasn't real guitar. It was actually played on my seaboard rise using a really fun little patch I made in Equator. Thank you so much for the comment though smile It's lovely getting a little bit of feedback.

Congratulations on persevering!! I'm glad you're sticking at it! It's very tricky to keep weeklybeats going when on holiday even without being sick! I hope you still managed to enjoy some hiking.

Also DAMN when it drops!!! The gated vocals sound amazing over that rolling beat. This is siiiiiick. Kinda reminds me of some of the early Flume production techniques which are great I feel very nostalgic for. Well done on this one!

Digging the choppy sample treatment, very engaging!

dear dewdrops,
nice to hear you back, i like these ideas  smile
sorry to hear you got sick, hope it didn't totally crush the vacation vibe!
sincerely,
jwh
