You did the Thing!

By Devieus on January 17, 2024 3:32 pm

This week I was supposed to put more guitar, tough luck, it's a victory jingle now. It's 11 or so bars of the exact same sound with minute variations because this has partially been endurance training and it's all live and one take, except the intro. Realest people will listen to it all and get to enjoy a menagerie of things long missed (aka the birds are back, courtesy of Q-Rosh wanting them to be).

Let me know if you did the thing so that we may celebrate it together

Rockin'!!

thing has been done! love the sharp chippy bass synth sitting under the big guitar tone smile

This sounds quite triumphant. Congrats on the thing that you did!

Great! I tried to do one long, live guitar performance this week, but I failed. I managed to find one decent loop in there, then just clipped and repeated it. I’m hoping to get to the level where I can play consistently enough for a single long take! I’m jealous!

I did, indeed, do the thing!

The only thing you're missing here are sleepy drony Cobain vocals.

fuck yeah birds

Digging the guitar playing, sounds really cool with the electronic elements/birds.

Of course we love the birds. Nice bird bending here, and just listen to that guitar! A job well done I say, and ripe for a remix from ilzxc, in the fullness of time

I did the thing! 🐦 so happy the bird is back big_smile

It has a locomotive sorta feel to the beat if i'm makin sense smile  Def had me tapping along and feelin the nostalgia of dem birds.  The guitar slide speaks bird a bit in this I believe.  Thing achieved!

I can appreciate the endurance run, single take! The guitar tone is great and the birds are a nice compliment.

Well, I love the sound of a good and pure amp. This one has a nice grunge vibe and rocks fine. Thank you for the minimalistic composition. It brought me into trance in which I could hear birdy sing. It was wonderful what you did.

Haha, it's definitely cool to hear the merger of timbres from previous years (the birds + chip synths) and the direction you're currently taking your music with heavy guitar. Keep on rockin'!

dope!

You really did the thing
could use more bass, and reverb

Tastefully trashy tone

*huge inhale*

YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSS

i'm :40 seconds in and we are rocking

just found the birds!  awesome!

live guitar is no joke

3:03 getting a little tired but we are almost done

I DID THE THING!

i needed birdz at the fade out tho

smile

I did the thing! Although I typed this when I was still doing the thing, I knew I would do it. Ok, now I did it. Keep doing the things!

Quite a power anthem, something I could listen to to get pumped up, for a work interview for example.

Well done! Sounds like old school punk met a synth!

This would be super fun to catch live and loud.

Sorry for the delay, the others figured I should reply to this and I hope I got you all.

It definitely could use a little boost, but honestly, as is, it feels like an effect on the guitar itself and you are totally correct.
Congrats on doing the thing, too.

That was the plan, a simple thing just to have fun with the guitar.

It's not exactly just one bit, the intro is recorded separately, but yea, the long bit is all one take and probably three times or so because it's tricky to keep track of how far you are in the progression, it's very hypnotic.

But I believe you can do the thing.

I can definitely put that in at some point in the future, though I don't think I sound like him. Still, it'd add a nice bit of thing.
And congrats on doing the thing.

It's my brand now, my brand is birds. It's not a bad brand at all. We could definitely do much worse than birds.

He's got my permission.
Let's find out whose birdbending technique is superior.

I get what you mean and performing it is just like daydreaming while watching the landscape roll by.
Which is not ideal, because I need to keep track of the progression.

Save for the intro, but yes, one take and it hurts the fingers, but that's practice for you.

Thank you so much, means a surprisingly great deal and I'm so glad you got joy from this.

And no plans of stopping, let's see just how far I can ride this, because honestly, we've been wanting to do this for a long time.

Politely disagree, it's clean and the bass stacks nicely. But maybe I can try it with reverb sometime. In a live show maybe, at the end of the year.

(yes, we really are our own worst critic)

Congratulations on doing the thing!
I can see about putting birds there, but maybe, just maybe, it's fine to let the guitar take it away in peace at the end. It's been through a lot and the birds are already asleep, time for the guitar to join in as well.

Congratulations with the thing!
Hope you can keep doing the things as well.

See, the point is to play this when you did the thing and use it as a victory theme.
However, I'm not a cop, so you can use it to get pumped instead, or maybe do both.

It was love at first sight.

I really hope one day I get to do that. I feel I can do this with confidence, and to instill confidence into others through it.

We've been trying to put it on a diet, but it ain't having it.

By the way, love your stuff, too.
