Reggae Power

By Devieus on July 11, 2024 12:06 pm

The sun is high and the heat is on. Not the most inspired title, but it's true to form. Reggae, with distortion, and chiptune, and birds.

I like your take on Reggae, with your trademark birds and guitar sound! Very original!

this is the weirdest reggae song i think i've heard
*i mean that in a GOOD way  heart

01:20 is when things really start cooking!

This made me smile right away. Like this:  big_smile
It’s neat to hear you pushing into different genres and carrying your signature sounds there with you!

Reggae-tune? yikes I never knew I needed! That melody around 1:20 percolates above the chords.

I was today years old when I realized the power theme in the track titles

love the upswings, agreed with jwh, the chip lead is perfect

i can see the devieus band playing this at an outdoor beach festival, digital birds flying about, me and other WBers playing volleyball

Just goes to show some genres are just a state of mind. In this case chipmetal just being a set of instruments.

Yea, it definitely takes a bit to cook. Thanks for enjoying.

No genre is truly safe with a guitar in hand and a pocket full of sand, and that sand was turned into chips, and was used to make chiptune.

Glad you enjoyed it heart

Perhaps you would like some more? Who knows, plenty of weeks left.

The secret sauce on that was that it's an arpeggiator, playing random notes of the major pentatonic, but only sometimes. A feature of LMMS that's just there somehow.

Easiest gig on the planet, we're doing basically nothing half the time, and only hitting a few strings the other half (the down beat to be exact).

I am looking forward to the power dub version of this. Well done so far.

I probably won't be the one to do that, but maybe someone will.

Super unique vibe, recognizably reggae-inspired and also recognizably power. Really like the drums and melody in particular.

It truly came together in the laziest way possible, and would it really be reggae if it wasn't done the lazy way
