Power Tempest

By Devieus on August 4, 2024 7:06 pm

Been a rough week, we're getting there.

We're codifying some sort of "thing" that makes making songs easier and could be seen as a signature of sorts. It's a progression you can hear in one of the sections that goes like I-x-y-z followed by I-z+1-x/y/z-I, then repeated with variation at the x/y/z, if that makes sense. If not, that's good, more for me. If it does, you can be just like me, but you will still be making derivative work in the end.

It's not repetition, it's workflow efficiency and brand creation. Just like the birds.

I do feel this body is getting much better at the guitar stuff, muscle memory and all that.

I have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about with your secret formula, so it will remain your secret for now.
This is a great chip metal track. Really like the guitar tone and how it sits in the mix. It's not domineering but still can't be missed.
Great stuff.

It can be a pain to mix it right sometimes, but when it's, it's just so much better.

The middle part of this, with the vibrato chip leads is really cool. The end too.

Just like last time, you are nailing the mix, things are on time, the balance between the chip and the distorted guitar is good. The chipmetal dream is taking off!

I'm going to guess you mean the bridge, because that vibrato chip is throughout the song. It's a good instrument for sure.

excellent track!!

This was super fun!!!

I really like the mix on this - great to hear you evolving!  this whole year has been like the DESLRV RPG soundtrack smile

I really like this. The first part reminds me one of those things where and arc rises between two wires that get further apart.(I've been informed that these are called Jacobs Ladders)

Definitely an interesting combination of sounds here. Works well. Very nice.

31 weeks in, you'd hope there's going to be some improvements at least. If it turns into an RPG rock opera by the end, all the better.

Fascinating, didn't know that. I could lean into it a bit more and put a little distortion on that so it actually feels like an arc.

Those square wave chords are dope!! Love the vibrato you're tickling them with.

They knew what they were getting in to. I'm sure they love it.

I doubt I understood the formula when I read it before listening, but I definitely don’t fathom anything after that face melting. Would do again. 🫠

More for us, to make more for you, to melt even more of your face.
