Power Slip

By Devieus on July 28, 2024 7:45 pm

Not to be confused with out other song, Power Strip, this one involves a slide, but I'm not calling it Power Slide, that's something else

Not sure if it's coming across right, but the verse bits are all 16ths and now my wrists are angy, but it's good practice and the song came out surprisingly good for something that I started basically a few hours ago

I especially like where the progression in the chorus goes, feels very strong

My head has been bobbing in rhythm from start to finish! 😁

Good riff and good energy in this track!

Really cool percussion supporting the main beat.  Riffs are extra thick and power through!  Really like how the synth comes in at 1:43 too.

This is great. Love the riff, for sure gonna figure it out later.

The main progression feels just awesome! The section around :53 is so cool too, really each part adds so much and feels important. Love the laser-like sounds in there too.

That's all you need for a good time

Only the thickest, tastiest riffs from me

If you have questions, I have answers
But basically, cool riff

It's all awesome, definitely love the chorus best myself as mentioned, might expand on it this week as well
I'm guessing by lasers you mean the birds, everyone thinks it's something different, but they also think it's neat, so I'm not hung up too much either way

You forgot the chipmetal tag, which is especially important this week as you nailed combining the two layers together. It sounds really good!

I'm enjoying the chip+metal combination! Early on, I was feeling nostalgic for my copy of Quake 2 - then some more chip-heavy parts started, and I had a bizarre vision of quake turning into the flying fish level from Super Mario Bros. Cool juxtaposition + reminder of things that are the different but the same.

Guess that's what happens when you rush things. Thanks for enjoying.

You too thanks for enjoying. You have a lively imagination, but it's not wrong.

love when it breaks down @ :55 then comes roaring back in
POWER // SLIP indeed!

The guitar is strong.

Maybe the effect is a bit too different and strong, but there's no denying the power.

The guitar is always strong, a mighty instrument indeed.

Loving the power anthology. Loving the energy here, like how the digital distortion in the chiptune leads melds with the guitar distortion on the riffs.

I assume power slide is forthcoming!

Powerful drum fills!

I forgot how that happened, I think it was layered, but there's plugins that'll do it too.

Not sure if there'll be a power slide song, maybe, but a power slide is a stage move, so the SEO would be terrible.

It's not power until the drums are power too.
