Power Play

By Devieus on August 18, 2024 4:03 pm

Just a little playful song and totally not just the star wars theme ripped off and turned into something else. You can't prove nothing. It's nothing like it. Stop trying.

I did tweak the thing we have to make a chorus, but I really wanted this to stay in major key. Not like most of you understand it anyway.

Fun thing about the bridge, the original song was generated as 7/4, and that just stuck there.

Star Wars? Never heard of it. o.O
With the major key it gives me sea shanty vibes. I can imagine a bunch of pirates dickin' around on their big ol' boat on the open ocean.

I would not have enough evidence to prove if this was/wasn't star Wars if I was testifying in court 🤥

I really like the way the track develops, reminds me a bit of the soundtrack to an adventure game on my GBC as a kid. Or maybe the theme for a show on G4TV. Also feeling a bit of the sea shanty vibes that that_ranjit called out! Cool track!

This put a smile on my face. Nice work smile

Never heard of star wars, is that a Dutch thing?

The melody line is very sing-songy, I second the sea shanty vibe!

Oh yeah, that melody definitely feels like a vocal line. Great stuff.

There is something lovable about this track. No idea what it is though! smile

Some really catchy melodies hiding in there.

That's ok John Williams has never heard of Korngold's "Kings Row" smile I too am feeling the sea shanty vibes but with a heroic we won da battle feel.  Powah Play! \m/

I’m trying to decide if I would have heard Star Wars if you hadn’t called it out.

Ok, maybe with the bleepy bits. 😁

Whatever this was inspired by, it’s a lot of fun!  Big smile on my face all during this. Definite adventure vibes. The chippy bits with the guitar was a great combo, gives it a lot of brawn. Fun track!

i checked with the birds (many do not know that birds are legal scholars) and they said you are in the clear.
Power Play = Power FUN
yes, i'm a sucker for major key
that section around 2:40 is downright joyful.
i'm imagining an alternate Back to the Future where you and the birds go back in time to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance and teach the squares about Chip Metal  big_smile

It actually does not sound like star wars, so no concerns there. I like the sense of joy and epicness that comes from the main melody!

I can see that, but it has to be one of those really fancy yacht pirate boats.

It's very playful, if you will.

Thanks, people really don't give the major key enough credit. Or they do, but they do something fancy with it and just completely fuck it up in the process.

Nah, it's probably something from a really long time ago, somewhere else. Space pirate shanty.

Someone better write some lyrics for it

It's the major key, it's like a big hug.

Also, I don't think we made the melody, it's just procedurally generated.

I never heard of John Williams, Korngold, or Korngold's Kings Row, so we're all in the same boat then, singing our shanties

That seems to be a running theme with chipmetal, and honestly, good thing to go for because no one hates that

Also, the star wars isn't in the bleepy bits, if it was there at all.

I know of the Legal Eagle and the Prosecutor Owl, tho I didn't consult them. I know I'm good anyway, not like there's anything like Star Wars in it.

Power to the Major Key

And that's a good part, a wrap up of the song.

Good plot, might do it later idk

Thank you, major key chip metal just works.
