Power Doodle

By Devieus on December 8, 2024 10:10 pm

We still had some doodles left over. You can't really tell one of them, it's mostly lost in translation, but it's definitely for the better.
Not that you know what either of them are anyway, but that's the beauty of the mystery.
Some other things I like, the initial melody disappears part-way through and you probably don't notice it. The build-up is very epic; I'm stating this as fact and I can back that up by the reverb increasing as the song goes along. The bit at the end has some weird resonance going on that I really enjoy.

I bet I can make the song be longer than it is. Lowering tempos is my thing and... I don't know, 110 bpm feels like the right tempo. The right kind of force behind it, a positive drive. It can work, I don't hate it, but the sounds need a bit of tweaking and it's an entirely different vibe, a lot more solemn and introspective. I reckon the same goes with a higher tempo, intense and climactic. Very versatile.

That's it for doodles, the year is pretty much complete, and perhaps so is my contribution. Three weeks remaining, last week was Leega, though she tends to hide that stuff. Valx already sent his regards. If this be my farewell, it's good to know it's an epic finale.

love when the low end kicks in around 1:10, the power in power doodle.
Spider, it's been a pleasure! I look forward to hearing what Leega reveals.

I love the idea of tweaking tempos for a whole different vibe. Slowing it down sounds interesting. Anyways, it was a great build up for sure, I can totally feel that reverb working its magic.
It sounds like you're leaving us with a killer finale. If this is your sendoff, it’s been an awesome ride!
Thanks for all the feedback!

Just check out last week for her farewell, that was her. Not sure if that came across right in the description.

Thanks for enjoying.

Thank you, the others will take over from here most likely, though you'll never know.

Going out with an absolute bang, Spider. This rocks! The guitar here is so fun and intense. Awesome build up!
I agree, definitely epic. Objectively so! Hahahaha.... If it really is your last song this year, please know that it's been awesome "playing" alongside you! Cheers!!!

I don't recall we ever did, maybe others, but thanks anyway.

Thank you for sharing this doodle. The tempo is correct. I like that section from 0:20, with the background lines sounding very much like a guitar riff. Good buildup of the track. Especially with the lower end around 0:52, these layers add a sense of gravitas and passion. This gets epic! The guitar like layers from 1:12 then take it to next level. Cool track and hello to the birds!

Thanks for the listen!
You'll be happy to know that's an actual guitar, as we have been using all year.

The main riff reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on it! It's not quite "Shadow of the Beast III", but it does have this mysterious build and gravitas. Excellent work for "leftover doodles"!

epic, indeed!

I think I can almost see it. I'll tell you this much though, the song is in G Dorian, basically our favorite scale, very adventurous and stuff. It's not impossible they used that too (though doesn't feel like G there).
If it's something else, that's probably a good lead.
And thank you, just goes to show how epic our doodles are.

Definitely epic.

you were right about the build up

Very nice! Really love the way this builds and builds! Great melodies teased out in this. Really like how it feels in the verge of falling apart at around 1:30. Awesome stuff!

This build-up is no joke for sure.

Thick, crunchy and powerful guitar chords that cut right thru the drums.  Excellent outro arp!  A nice contrast from the guitars into that pleasing sound.

We don't autoduck, we have faith in our guitars, to the point we drown the drums in them. Also, that outro is very nice indeed, it's also a callback to the intro.
