Esh Ag Usil Don

By Devieus on March 9, 2022 9:58 pm

Back at it again, this time my friend made a sound and I put it into my track itself. The generator was nice, but I tweaked it to be extra long just to fit his song.

By the way, he absolutely adored the comments you people gave last week's track and he has taken up LMMS, so he'll be making songs more regularly, songs that'll show up on their own artists page now. Keep the love coming.

The song name is Sanctuary and he has this to say:

The dictionary definition of the word ‘Sanctuary’ refers to a safe haven; a retreat from a persuit, prosecution, or any harm.

One’s safe haven however, can easily become one’s own ‘personal’ asylum. Cloistered among one’s anguished thoughts, the stability of the conscience begins to decline considerably, leaving behind a withered husk of what was once a lively soul.

I swapped again this morning, so it's the person who is Devieus again. My life feels kinda boring compared to my other's. Oh well.

Also be sure to check out my friend's submission.

i felt like i just set off on an epic adventure...but then forgot what the quest giver told me to do.

I like the percussion in this one a lot. Especially that periodic crashing noise. smile

Really interesting this one: I found this one teaches me how to listen to it, so that what at first seemed meandering ended up feeling very satisfying in phrasing. Really cool!

+1 smile

Heck yeah!!! And very true about the sanctuary.

Dungeon game music. Takes me back to Gauntlet 2.

Yea, I don't know what happened there, I guess the buffer got janked up. Either way, with the quest forgotten, you have the entire world open to explore.

I think that's supposed to be the bass drum, but I'm glad you're enjoying it as it is.

Very unintentionally so, but I'm glad you got something out of it.

He's an avid metal fan, if you can't tell.

There was a second? Well, I'm glad you could see some use for it.

Devieus the use of reverb in this piece gave me the sense of being in some kind of chamber/cavern - perhaps near water... what a neat soundscape

Hard rockin this week. My new favorite! Like those pow pow white noise snare hits. While down in Texas earlier this week, I saw flocks and flocks of these noisy black birds that I named Devieus birds for the crazy almost fake electric bird sounds they make. Rock on Devieus Birds!

shields up, its quite a journey, love this.

Oooh I agree love those crunchy snare hits. Maybe it was the Gauntlet gif but this def gave me some dungeon crawling vibes smile

Thanks, LMMS' built-in reverbs are very versatile and I love using it

That's the first time I heard them being actually real birds, or maybe they evolved after hearing this song
Also thank you so much~

So I guess these snares are a keeper, even though I think they're supposed to be base drums
