Lamenting Scraps

By DESLRV on July 26, 2026 3:11 pm

Those were your favorite scraps. They held all your loving memories, even if they were already reduced to little more than scraps, they are now gone forever.

Didn't want to put in too much effort this week, but I've been listening to this on repeat for a solid hour already. It's just such a nice arpeggio (secretly based on Midna's Lament, but great artists steal). Don't bother counting the signature, it's several bars of 3/8, capped by one 2/8 in a few places. When having these weird signatures, adhering is creating its own beauty and you should not go out of your way to do anything else fancy.

You're not crying, I'm crying.

The birds of sadness this week. Nice arps that linger in unusual places.

That is indeed a great arpeggio! The odd time signatures and the way the melodies interact with other through them sound great!

They, too, weep for what once was.

That's the beauty of odd time signatures, you don't need to do anything and it'll sound great on its own.

Those arps are pretty and melancholic, and the drumbeat you pair them with adds a really cool dimension to the track. Nice work!

(And the greatest artists steal from Twilight Princess because it is SO GOSH-DARNED COOL!, so you're good to go there.) 😉
