All the Good Bits

By DESLRV on Yesterday 4:37 pm

I'm sure this song is better with a vocalist, but we ain't got one so they're being replaced with chiptune.

This song was a direct request, rather than one asked for, by Mr. Eos, who gave me a song to base this week's song on: For the Glory by All the Good Things (hence the title). A fine band and easy to build on for us (reminds me of Imagine Dragons), but I'm not sure I caught the spirit entirely, probably too much going on. The song itself is still really nice with many things going on.

The harmony in the chorus is sick, and takes the second verse into big organ good times!
Could imagine this with some sweaty, long hair bandana wearing rockers thrashing it out on stage

You are describing the lead singer of the band pretty well with that one.

Thank you, these kinds of songs usually do something interesting with the vocals in the chorus, so thought it'd be a good fit.

A lot of good things going on in this track!
Would definitely love to hear a vocal version of it.
Really liking the piano part.

Funny, and I very much mean this as a compliment. The tune feels big and epic. But the sounds are rather silly and dorky. Which, again, is very much a compliment. As you could upgrade the sounds and the mix and make this come alive. But the if the composition wasn't there...it would just be hot hair. So yeah, well done!

Same, just gotta find a vocalist.

Chiptune is nothing if not dorky, it's the very nature of it.
Not sure what sounds exactly need an upgrade, it works as is well enough, though if you want to try mixing it, you're welcome to.

I fully agree, chiptunes aren't dorky. But I don't think your tune really falls into the chiptune category. Anyway, normally I'd be happy to have a go at mixing stuff for people here. But sadly this week I have no time for that. Not even sure if I'll be able to do my own WB this week. So maybe some other time.
