on the banks of the mississippi

wrote some of this last night and started recording this today (sunday) at around 1:45pm.  i rushed this because it sounded sweeter live and i wasnt diggin how it sounded recorded, but whatva.  this ones about my grandpa who has sadly lost most of his mind to dementia.  he's a badass from the deep south who moved to michigan in the 50s, and im pretty sure has only been north of arkansas twice in the last 40 years; only to hunt in canada.  he taught me a lot whacky and interesting shit at his hunting clubs compound off of the mississippi river.

Feel good tune man, love the guitar lead.  Fuck dementia though, my grandma lived the last 10 years of her life with it.

Turn down that rhythm guitar and you got yourself a soup! This is some great speedtrash man! Digging the noodlin leads

such a nice way to show respect to your grandpa. beautiful guitars.

Awesome lyrics and super catchy. Nice playing, especially for how fast you recorded it!

Amazing, such a clean guitar line. I would love to hear this live if it sounds even better. Agreed, great way to pay tribute to your grandfather.

Hell yeah bubs nice track man.  Great guitar work and tones.  Vocals are pretty damn good too.  Do I hear some high harmonies in there???

Great live sound. Vocals and guitar are perfectly! You really struck the right tone. Like a southern ballad feel. Well done!

Sorry to hear about your grandpa, but this is a great tribute.  That lead guitar line is super sweet.

its a lot more fun to noodle around with live let me tell ya!  plus, i played it live a key higher and recorded it one down, so i sound a bit deeper which im not too used to

yep theres some highs in there, i turned them down a bit since it was a tough note to hit and i didnt have a lot of time to keep re-recording to nail it perfect

Thanks man, and wild that you say that's the same or of outside perspective I was aiming for with this, because I was thinking back on how much I enjoyed making stuff like Hasting's Cutoff!  I'm definitly going to go back use use those sort of themes and past stories to build on that 2018 material.  good ear

You should, if you had to stick to any one sort of style, that'd be a great one.
