same cracker different cheese

This started from some piano noodling (which mostly turned into the lead melody). In my head it is Phrygian ♮3 ♮7, but nobody seems to call it that. It's not microtonal per se, but it really came alive for me when I tuned the (♭)2 up a hair.

All instruments here are the M8's FM synth. I love making sounds with that thing.

I also went nuts and made a little video and posted the bundle for anyone who is interested in the gory details..

sorry I ruined your amazing track during the listening sesh, I'm a fat chud

Real comment: you always come through with the craziest, choppiest percussion and leads. I love the slippery FM going on here. Great work.

dude, the solos and breaks you have in here are so wild!!! I'm super impressed with the fuller sections too, when you have so many elements going crazy. super well done, very VERY good work.

Oh yes. Nice job going deep on the FM. No idea how you'd get from piano noodling into this bop, but it certainly works. Love the thick gnarly bass, especially when it gets time to shine in the bridge section. Crazy percussion as always.

MOAR CHEESE!!

This is wild! Very much enjoying the energy and unpredictability.

This is bananas and I love it.

Love the scale for the solo it's some kind of crazy phrygian whatever it is.

Absolutely bonkers. This is fantastic. Do you noodle live into the m8 via midi? There's such a volatile, spontaneous quality here that really plays well against elements aligned with the tracker flow, its really great

Ping-ponging in my chair as I listen to it. Fake vinyl crackle leads into a wicked bass and cheeky touchtone lead (*really* like the pitch drop on the last bar of the lead). An endless bag of tricks from the dense perc master: multispeed snare rolls, dusty metallic toms, shifting offbeat cowbells morphing into triplets, rattlesnake shakers... Love the smoker's rasp of a lead in the C section and reprise. The chords around 2:00 hits give me a 70s gameshow vibe, before diving into a fun, nose-tweaking, instrument-swapping parade around 2:45. The two-bar transitions are clever. Faved and downloaded.

wow! love the drums with the intricate percussion and ear candy. \m/ Excellent work!
