Started two tracks this week and wasn't feeling either. Ended up taking yet another fragment from an old track and significantly reworking it, changing the mode, adding some layers, etc. Made a lot of changes in a few hours so at this point I'm not sure if it makes sense anymore.
Like many of my songs this year, it's built from my Yamaha FM sample stash - MegaFM, DX100 and OPL3. And as usual, made on M8.

LOL, just my luck.. to be fair this time around there were some more substantial changes.

The pads and hi-hats alone create such a nice mood, everything else adds and flows so nicely. Feel like I could float away here for a while.

not only does it make sense, it feels to me like it has a strong melodic narrative. i like this place heart

FM goodness + good arrangement = a successful track. There's something about it that reminds me of the "Shadow of the Beast" soundtrack from way back when. Nicely sentimental, too.
