brand new cartridge

traveling for work this week and will have zero time, so posting super early (for me). was tempted to dip into my old tracks again, but got busted last time big_smile so I managed to put together some OC this WB. this is built around some bars I made noodling with the M8 wavsynth, which was used for all the melodic parts. I leaned further into the chiptuneish sound with NES samples for the drums. I think this could use a B section, and the mix is a bit off, but anyway - gotta go pack or I'll miss the flight yikes

It's almost as if you channelled the flight into this, like a prelude to something grand
Love the airy arp
- Ebrit

A prime example when the basics are so solid, the track doesn't need much complexity. Such a great choice of instruments. Hope you made the flight! wink

That opening line reminds me of something, but I can't remember now what it is. Gah, now I'll obsess about it.

A very pleasant track. Lots of space. The bass is the most chiptune-ish here with the heavy aliasing. The lead and the lofi beats fit very well!

Thank you for the kind words. And yes I did make the flight! But it ended up being delayed by a couple of hours, should've brought the M8 with me big_smile

Thank you! Yes, just a good ol' low-bit triangle wave, which is a sound I'm really fond of, probably all the NES exposure.

At first this track had a higher tempo, and there the arp reminded me a bit of owl city fireflies (not a huge fan, but undeniably catchy tune). At a lower tempo, it actually reminds me of the zelda II NES intro (which was partly where the title comes from).

this has a great vibe, love the crunchy NES drums

THANK YOU, now I can sleep again! That triangle is also at the beginning of "To Die For" by The Birthday Massacre.

Oh wow, that is a pretty similar arp! And it's a good song too, never heard of the band. The songs you pick as comparisons are good recs and also flattering ;D

Can't go wrong with Triangle Bass!
Ain't no one blowing in that cartridge! Cool chill nostalgic vibe :3
