lightning bugs

oof. made it with only three minutes to spare. In retrospect the mix is a bit too quiet, sorry about that!

Honestly keeping up with WB is getting really tough but I reaallly wanted to make it to at least week 26. Just one more!

Made on M8, most of it synth engines, with a roland S-1 as guest for a couple of synth parts.

This is beautiful.

It is a bit quiet, but not a big deal! We're not at war for loudness here. I like the dreamy board-of-canadesque structure of it. A very pleasant listen!

Quite pretty. Maybe it's quiet, can't quite tell, but it fits the mood.

Thank you! Yeah, I guess that's what the volume controls are there for wink

so I started listening to this and then realized my SSL certificate expired on my server, so I went to fix that and I was in the flow and doing my thing and then the song suddenly stop and I was like "hey where did the cool music go?!"

This sounds like a misty evening rooftop jam with close friends, thick coffee, and whatever instruments happen to be to hand. It's like a warm cloud of calm. It sounds so effortless that it gives the impression of being found instead of deliberately written - and that is NOT easy!

Such a lovely calm place to land. Saw some discussion recently on the regional differences in calling them lightning bug vs firefly.
Either way, I love them and love this track.

you can do it - this is fun

Way to go! I hear that, finding time has gotten harder for me but I suppose we plod along. Glad this one made it. Really enjoy the synth sounds, some of the melodies definitely evoke an insect quality without giving any of the creepy-crawlies some other insects give haha. I feel like the drums and cymbals in particular give this track a really light quality as well, you've crafted a pleasant vibe here smile

thank you big_smile big_smile ... and I was hoping someone would catch that. Never saw any fireflies (or lightning bugs as they're called here in western PA) until I moved here. but I am quite fond of them, and have spent a few nights getting bit by mosquitoes photographing them. Went out to a "firefly festival" (no EDM involved) in the sticks to see some synchronous fireflies. Very worthwhile.
