Another (stereo) acid jam this week recorded live into Ableton. Had a good session early in the week and wanted to give the arrangement a revision on Sunday, but there wasn't time for that. Happy to leave it as is -- a nice sketch.

Tried to give the bass line a bit more space and direction rather than just a full on 16th stream. It's a bit too heavy on the downbeat, and could have been more syncopated and funky. I like the buzzy patch I got on a Behringer Model D, then sent it through a resonant-y delay patch on the Quadraverb.

The drums are Nord Drum 2 going through a lofi patch on the Nord Micromodular (bit rate reduction, sample rate reduction, a bit of filtering) -- then smashed in the Drum Bus in Ableton. Happy with the results I get from going hard on the drums, think I've been too careful with them in the past.

x0xb0x (sawtooth/left) and TD-3 (square wave/right) doing the trad acid stuff. x0x gets some digital spring reverb ITB, while the TD gets some analog spring reverb OTB. Funny thing, the TD3 needs to be calibrated, the tuning goes a bit out in the higher octaves. But hey, that makes it microtonal!

Pads/keys from the good old MKS-50, with some Quadraverb and OTO BAM ambience added.

Just three weeks in I already feel that Weekly Beats 2026 has put me back in the swing of things.

Cool, thanks for listening!

Those drums are really tasty, and I like how the acid bass is almost more of a lead

This is dope! Love all of the stabs, and drums.

Cheers, dadboy! I was very happy with the drums. They were a big departure from what I usually do, both in terms of programming and sonic treatment.

Thanks for the cool comment, J Shanga!

oooh these are some nice acidic sounds

Fun stripped-back techno vibes, nice work!

Nice one! The processed Nord Drum 2 and rough bass sounds great against the clean acid lines and floating synths. The contrast is very evocative.
