Attempting to work out a better circuit tracks to m8 workflow this week. I love the circuit tracks for coming up with ideas, but getting anything out of it can be a real pain with it having to be a real time recording into external gear.

Pad, bass and drums on the circuit tracks (retro futurism 3 pack), recorded into the m8 as a sample that I chopped up to add a few extra synth tracks to (1 Sid preset by avrilcadabra, 2 more by me).

It’s still a bit clunky, when getting to the finished piece I felt that the bass sound was too over powering and would have benefitted from some more percussion fills, particularly in transitions, but the set up of it proved too much for me with limited time… the final mix is a bit iffy too. I guess I’ve been spoiled with the immediacy of the m8! So, this could be improved a whole lot, but it’s all I can manage this week!

I wanted to go for a synthwave/chiptune crossover, maybe some more to come as I try to get these devices to really work together!
