Repairing My Sewing Machine

I come from a long line of Needlewomen. We are all sew, quilt, knit, crochet, tat lace etc. I have spent the last week getting Stitchy (1977 Sears Kenmore) ready for an unusual project called a Jelly roll rug. A long time sewing buddy of mine, sent me the tutorial and I was hooked. I have never made anything remotely like a this rug. I mostly make and mend clothing, and hem pants. This rug, seems to be opening the door for me to maybe become somewhat of a fabric artist. Hmmm We'll see.
Oiling up Stitchy is a PROJECT. It involves taking off the lid and finding all the moving parts and making sure the belts are working. I do not relish doing this. It is a bit of a panic as I worry that once I take a part off and carefully put the screws in a bowl something or someone will knock it over .... Yes this happens. Dog tails can some how find their way to site of this "surgery."
This piece is in D Harmonic minor giving that kind of "Son of the Plains" Romani-life feel--with a lot of pizzicato strings, various melodic element's rhythms doubled and halved. It gives the feeling the sewing machine running and panicking a bit as I make my way through every little thing. Some of the anxiety is mine!
