Quadrille to Invoke Spring

By Daisy on February 18, 2024 6:59 pm

This is a dance in duple meter called a Quadrille. I usually have a story, but the pensiveness and almost pleading quality is simply me wanting Spring to hurry up and get here. I have used lots of flute with a relentless percussion.  At one point I began to channel Caesar Franck- hello dissonance!
Most I have asked to listen to this have no idea what I am going on about!

Bring on the Spring!

So nice! Those flutes are so refreshing, evoke an approaching spring! Well orchestrated.

I enjoy the light and cheerful atmosphere of this track. The flutes are at times pensive, playful, meek. It feels like watching rabbits play in the grass (i was primed by the "spring" reference).

A rousing piece, surely spring will have to come along now.
