Procession of the Sandhill Cranes

By Daisy on March 3, 2024 2:11 pm

The Cranes have arrived flying over the skies above my house called Sandhill Slough.  Sandhill Cranes I feel are a  prehistoric sounding large bird. Their startling rattle is so different than other bird calls. Long legs and a peculiar gait look make them look regal yet goofy walking through the farm fields. Folks here don't like them, and there are laws about feeding them or helping them in any way.  They do destroy crops while they feed, so I do understand why farmers don't like them.
I see them in my skies, hear their strange calls, and hope someday they will land in my yard!

Meditative and majestic. Just as one might imagine soaring cranes. I enjoyed the orchestral alternation of wind, percussion, and mallet sounds. MuseScore sounds or from elsewhere?

-Adam

Thanks!  All Musescore 4.  I still haven't tamed Ableton11.

Love this and the story. Cheers to these regal creatures and your wonderful track!

Thanks!  I'm glad you could see the cranes!

Maybe you should grow wheat, that'll get them to land. It's not helping them, you're simply growing wheat.
Good song, the timpani adds a definite weight.

Thanks for the idea!!!  We are just now getting ready to plant things-- I could grow a nice patch of wheat.  It is so pretty as it turns golden in the fall....
Glad you liked the timpani!

i love how those whispery tambourine accents rush in and out, beautiful setup of scene with such grand emotive drive! heart

excellent procession! big fan of sandhill cranes over here. we don't see them often, but do hear them on occasion & always run outside to try & catch a glimpse.  smile
last year i went for a walk with my daughter & 3 sandhills were hanging out on the edge of a field just across the road. i was surprised at how tall they were, having only seen them from a distance before that. of course that experience insprired a song for me - ha!
i'm enjoying catching up on your mmusic, thank you.

I LOVE Sandhill Cranes, we have them visiting in SE Wisconsin in the summer, this is LITERALLY what they listen to on boomboxes while they cross the street with total disregard to traffic.

one time this crane was destroying this car's sideview mirror because he caught his reflection looking at him funny (true story)

great tune!  i liked the tambourine work (was that virtual???)
