Call of the Hound - Ode to Tucker

By Daisy on June 14, 2022 8:47 am

In 2011 Tucker (bloodhound-Labrador)came into our lives. He was one of those big-hearted dogs that was full of fun and Joy.
The initial horn call is him emerging from the Lac du Flammbeau Indian reservation to live with us, complete with heartworm, lyme, and buckshot.
See him bounding through fields with all his considerable upper body strength. Pounding the ground to make the deer scatter, and enjoying his time on the Lakeshore, biting the waves! He loved other dogs, and could often calm them down! Especially puppies.  He stood in front of a snowplow once and stopped it so he could retrieve a very frightened and silly puppy that was nearly under the front tire.
He did not like black pickup trucks or bears. Those made him  very angry.
He was oafish-- never knew where his butt was-- and very silly!  Chasing butterflies and catching them! He like to open his mouth and let them fly out!  He loved being surprised!
The final horn call is Tucker taking his leave of us back into the woods of eternity.

An ode well done! Quite majestic and captivates nicely the curiosity of a dog's spirit. Thanks for sharing. I can tell Tucker was a good dog and well-loved

Great horn and string arrangement!

So elegant, so graceful.
